CLASS POLICIES
Full Payment of class fees due at time of registration. This guarantees a place in the class.
Phone registration is available with Visa or MasterCard. Cancellations must be made at least 7 days prior to class start. A store credit will be issued provided your cancellation does not reduce class participation below minimum number required, so please check your schedules carefully before registering. Minimum number of students is three, maximum can vary by class. When applicable the teacher will be glad to leave class notes. We will cancel 48 hours prior to any class if participation level is below minimum and will issue a full refund for any class we cancel.
Please pick up a supply list at time of registration. Purchase supplies prior to arriving for class.
You will receive a 15% discount on class supplies.
Please mark all tools and supplies
Classroom machines are available for use during class time.
Please refrain from wearing perfumes in consideration of fellow classmates and staff with allergies.
2170 owners Club

This class is intended for all 2170 owners who want to use all aspects of their machines. You have so many more features than you realize and Rhoda will show you how to utilize all of them. This is the schedule for the first class
Communications 2170/44/40 and Computer

PLEASE NOTE: For this class you must already have established communications between your computer and sewing machine. Appliqué Quilt
Fridays 10am to 4pm

Rhoda Moore will show you a new way to appliqué using your embroidery machine. This is an easy form of appliquéing with a very professional finished project.

QBot / Frame classes
Class #1 Wednesday, January 27th 1:00-4:00
Basting 3 ways, How to use Templates. Channel lock basting and Qbot basting will be reviewed and demonstrated. We will discuss , various ways to create templates and various ways to use templates. To start with we will look at template use in Edge to Edge designs. We will also discuss template use with, the new overlay feature. Be sure to write down your questions so you will remember to ask them at class . We will save the last bit of class for a general question and answer session.
Class # 2 Wednesday, February 17th 1:00- 4:00
Margaret will demonstrate the use of” Pattern Perfect” which is perfect for beginners on the frame and discuss the various ways it can be configured. Then she will move on to pantographs, a great way to start free motion quilting, it allows you to learn how to work with the machine and still be confident that the final product will be satisfactory. She will discuss and demo various ways to work with other free motion designs, marking your quilt or using Golden threads paper.
Class #3 Wednesday, March 31st 1:00- 4:00
You can appliqué on your quilt , Various ways to create the appliqué will be discussed and demonstrated. Need a bold line? We will discuss and demonstrate couching of yarn or other trim. To take one step further, several ways to create Trapunto designs on your frame will be discussed and demonstrated.

LEVEL 1 SEWING - INTRODUCTION TO SEWING BASICS
Thursdays 6pm to 8:30 pm

No experience required.
Learn basic sewing skills and machine operation; correct cutting, marking, pressing, and seam finishing; as well as simple pattern adjustments and fitting techniques. Learn to understand commercial pattern envelope information, ease, grain of fabric, nap, notches, etc. Determine your correct pattern size; it's not the same as ready-to-wear sizing. Pat will show you how much fun sewing can be using the newest sewing aids and equipment. Our bright classroom is fully equipped with machines, (if you do not want to bring your own) irons, and ironing boards. Come to the first class in clothing suitable for taking measurements and bring pen and paper
Pat will help you achieve success in project completion.

This is a fabulous class for utilizing the feet for your machine. Each month features different feet and different techniques. The pattern is supplied however you must purchase the fabric of your choice. We have an excellent selection of fabric for this class so come in and receive 15% off fabric purchased for class. The finished size is 85” x 93”

Electric Quilt 6
2 classes, February 20 and March 6 Saturdays, 1 - 4 pm.
Are you a quilter? How would you like to see what your quilt will look like before you cut into that beautiful fabric? EQ6 will let you design your project completely on paper: choose your colours and blocks, print out templates, cutting instructions, fabric requirements, and preview the finished quilt. These two classes will get you started with this amazing program, and covers the basics of designing a quilt from start to finish, using all the libraries included. Future classes will delve into designing your own blocks, both pieced and applique.
Fabric Mover
Thursday, March 11th, 1:00- 4:00
So you have a Fabric Mover with or without the Stitch regulator, and you don’t know how to get the most use out of it. This class is for you, learn simple techniques and basic tools to make it’s use easier. Use it for borders, free motion designs, use it with the IDT, or walking foot ( yes you can!)

Geisha girl –2 classes to finish project
Geisha #1
Saturday, March 27th, 10:00-4:00 and Sat Apr 17 10-4:00
First class
In this class we will work on creating the Geisha panel. Bring a pencil and eraser. If you are using Steam a Seam Lite you will need 3.5m not 1 as in pattern as it is narrow. If you choose to cut out your geisha and transfer her onto a different background you will need more fusible. This technique will be discussed in class.
Second class
In this class we will work on embellishment and stitching. Bring your decorative threads. You will need an open toe foot and yarn couching foot if you are using yarn. This project is designed to be embellished , add crystals, yarn couching, metallic threads, beads, the design is up to you. To finish your panel touch up her face with makeup add 2 borders and quilt.

Pressing for Quilters
Wednesday, April 7th, 1:00 – 4:00
What’s the difference between a beginner quilter and an experienced one?? Pressing!!!! Learn how to make your iron work for you and Not against you. Learn how to use steam Without distorting your seam, or fabric. Learn how to press and achieve that flat neat quilt that will be a breeze to finish. Starch is your friend and no, not on your shirt. When and where do you use it, without scorching your fabric. How can it help your piecing lay flat especially those odd shapes.
